With wide-ranging influences from country, folk and blues to jazz, R&B and rock n’ roll, the members of Big Sweetie have united to form a truly eclectic Americana band. Based in Portsmouth, NH, the band’s members also perform in many other local and regional acts.

Scott Heron is a folk musician and songwriter based in New Hampshire. His music combines elements of American folk, blues, bluegrass and more. He performs in a variety of New England-based Americana and string bands such as Green Heron and Little Wishbone.

The Heron Bluegrass Company pays homage to classic bluegrass with high energy live performances that hearken back to the music’s raw and raucous roots.

The music of Green Heron stretches across the entire folk landscape. Old-time, Americana, bluegrass, country and blues music are all represented as the band brings the back porch to the stage. Featuring Betsy Heron on fiddle, banjo and vocals, and Scott Heron on guitar, banjo and vocals, the duo has been sharing stages together since 2017. With three albums under their belt, the two songwriters weave the contemporary with the traditional and deliver high energy live performances.

Little Wishbone is an old-time string band located in Portsmouth, NH. The band is comprised of members of OldHat String Band and Green Heron and features mandolin, fiddle, banjo, guitar, and bass.

She may only be sleeping, but Mama Ain’t Dead. This quartet continues the American roots tradition while infusing contemporary songs with old-time appeal. Multi-instrumentalists and songwriters Betsy Heron, Brie Green, Scott Heron, and Tim Cackett deliver a down-home sound driven by fiddles and banjos that fixes to leave toes tapping and feet stomping.
